Birth and Postpartum Doula

HOOSIER DOULA, LLC

Few moments in life are as powerful, vulnerable, and life-changing as the moment a mother meets her baby for the first time. Hi, I'm Ashton, a birth and postpartum doula with a deep love for supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the transition into motherhood. Anyone who knows me knows that caring for babies and supporting growing families has always been close to my heart. Birth work is more than a profession to me—it's a calling. I believe every family deserves to feel supported, respected, and cared for as they navigate one of the most important experiences of their lives. I enter each birth with a calm presence, a listening ear, and a commitment to meeting families where they are. I have experience supporting hospital births, home births, cesarean births, and VBACs. Whether your goal is an unmedicated birth, an epidural, a planned cesarean, or simply feeling informed and confident in your decisions, my role is to walk alongside you—not to direct your birth, but to support you as you make the choices that are right for your family. I value both the wisdom of the body's natural design and the benefits of modern medical care. My goal is to help you feel informed, grounded, and supported while creating space for you to have the birth experience that best fits your needs and circumstances. In addition to birth support, I also offer postpartum care during those precious first days and weeks after baby arrives, helping families adjust with confidence as they settle into life with their newest little one. If you're preparing to welcome your baby and are looking for a supportive presence on your birth team, I would be honored to connect with you and see whether we're a good fit.

Owner and CEO

Sojourner Doula Care, LLC

As a Trauma-Informed Doula, I provide holistic, compassionate care to individuals and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My work centers on creating safe, empowering, and healing experiences for those who have been impacted by trauma, helping them navigate the perinatal journey with dignity, confidence, and support. I approach each client relationship with deep respect for their lived experience and autonomy, integrating trauma-informed principles of safety, trust, empowerment, collaboration, and cultural responsiveness. From the first prenatal session through postpartum recovery, I focus on identifying emotional triggers, fostering body awareness, and supporting informed decision-making. I help clients develop personalized birth and postpartum care plans that emphasize consent, comfort, and self-advocacy. During labor and delivery, I offer continuous emotional and physical support—using grounding, mindfulness, and evidence-based comfort techniques to reduce fear and enhance coping. My calm presence and advocacy help clients maintain agency and connection to their goals, even within high-stress or medicalized environments. In the postpartum period, I extend care to include recovery support, mental health awareness, and infant bonding. I collaborate closely with healthcare providers, midwives, and social workers to ensure continuity of trauma-informed care and connect families with community resources, perinatal therapists, and peer support networks as needed. Through this work, I have supported numerous clients in achieving safer, more empowered birth experiences, often resulting in reduced anxiety, improved postpartum adjustment, and stronger parent-infant relationships. I have been recognized for my ability to build trust within diverse and marginalized communities, particularly among survivors of violence, immigrants, and low-income families. My professional practice is grounded in continuous learning and reflection. I regularly pursue advanced training in trauma-informed care, reproductive justice, and perinatal mental health to remain current with best practices and to strengthen the quality of support I offer. By integrating both advocacy and education, I aim to break cycles of intergenerational trauma and promote emotional resilience for every family I serve.
